Petroica rosea
The Rose Robin is essentially a forest bird, but as an altitudinal migrant they usually show up in the suburbs in the cooler months, especially in gardens with dense vegetation.
Birds are recorded through the winter months suggesting some are overwintering in Canberra. Almost none is recorded from October to March. Numbers increased in the middle years of the survey but have dropped off again recently, although the reason for this is not evident. The increase was associated with an increase in the time birds stayed in gardens and the number of weeks of the year in which they are recorded. R=75.
