Australian White Ibis

Threskiornis molucca

The Australian White Ibis shows a peak in numbers in December and January. As with the Straw-necked Ibis, the Australian White ibis were frequently recorded in groups, which on occasions exceeded 100 birds. Numbers of both species have fluctuated during the survey which may reflect the influence floods and droughts elsewhere in Australia have on their breeding. Water restrictions in the ACT reduce the number of lush playing fields they were once often seen. R=76.
