Corvus mellori
The Little Raven is difficult to distinguish from the Australian Raven (from which it was separated as a full species as late as 1967) unless the difference in its call and behaviour is known. It is uncommon in Canberra, occurring mainly in the outer fringes and ranges, generally near open fields where it often forages in large groups. There is a strong peak of numbers in January, fewer in autumn and very few in winter and spring. R=89.
