Landcare Award
On 17 November 2019 the Landcare ACT Awards for 2019 were announced. COG was highly commended in the ACT Citizen Science section. Jenny Bounds and Neil Hermes received the award on behalf of COG.
In its entry COG highlighted the range of citizen science activities its members are involved in. These include the woodland bird surveys started in 1995, surveys of travelling stock reserves, Garden Bird surveys started in 1981, surveys of Latham’s snipe, surveys at Jerrabomberra Wetlands and Lord Howe Island.

Conservation Council Award
On 30 October 2015, COG received the Group Category Environment Award 2015 from the ACT Conservation Council.
