To celebrate World Wetlands Day, during this morning outing we will visit Kelly Swamp and Jerrabomberra Creek. Depending on numbers, the group may be divided into two, so a volunteer to lead a possible second group would be appreciated. Bring hat, sunscreen, water and, if you have one, a telescope. Meet at 7.30am in the carpark at the end of Dairy Road, Fyshwick.
NB: this walk is flat and is wheelchair-friendly.

The outing was run to celebrate World Wetland Day and the adoption of The Convention on Wetlands, in 1971, known as the RAMSAR Convention. The signatories, including Australia, signed the Convention in the city of Ramsar, Iran, situated on the southern edge of the Caspian Sea,

Seventeen members and friends met at the carpark at the end of Dairy Road at 7:30am, and broke up into two groups with each working their way around Kelly Swamp via each of the hides. We then completed the outing as a group past the Billabong, up and along the Levee Bank then along the Boardwalk. By then it was 10:00 and getting warm so both the group and the birds called it a day.
We recorded 47 species but unfortunately the Catch of the Day, the Little Bittern, eluded us.
