Brown Falcon

Falco berigora

Brown Falcons inhabit open grassland and woodland but also overfly the suburbs on occasion. They are quite noisy with loud cackling calls, and are also harassed by magpies and ravens. The species has never been common in suburbia and is currently seen infrequently. The seasonal pattern is steady, with a pronounced low in November, when the birds are breeding away from the suburbs. R=94.
