The April Wednesday walk was to Kelly Road just off the Monaro highway south of Williamsdale. 17 members and visitors attended. The birding was good despite windy conditions. Our first stop was just over the railway line where we found a large flock of perhaps 60 Diamond Firetails and good numbers of Southern Whiteface. Brown Treecreepers and a pair of Hooded Robins were other highlights. A Wedge-tailed Eagle soared overhead. We then walked down the road near the TSR where strong wind made birding harder work. For our efforts we were rewarded with excellent views of Willie Wagtails and Restless Flycatchers in the same tree. We also compared Fuscous and White-plumed Honeyeaters in the trees overhead and recorded a total of 37 species for the morning.
