Report - O'Connor Ridge (Wed 16 April 2008)

A bunch of folk met at O'Connor Ridge for a very pleasant walk. The highlight was a group of four Speckled Warblers — closely followed by a party of three of the same species over 100m distant. As we didn't see birds moving through ahead of us it suggests that there were two succesful breeding events, for this relatively uncommon species, in the area around the bike path in 2007/08. As we walked close to the GDE one of the group announced that they had seen a Grey Falcon. However, on closer examination of the branding, they changed this to a faded-black Commodore. (I was so envious of the mental dexterity in the punchline, that I couldn't resist repeating it here.)
